CLOSE to 1500 homes and businesses remain without electricity on the southern Gold Coast after a truck slammed into a power pole this afternoon.
An Energex spokesperson said that a truck had taken out a pole on Currumbin Creek Road at around 2pm, bringing down lines and knocking power to 1448 customers.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area, with reports of live wires obstructing the road.

Crews are on scene now, investigating and attempting to restore power.
