Truckie blows over the limit on M1 with dangerous goods on board

A man has been busted driving his truck, which was loaded with dangerous goods, whilst under the influence of alcohol yesterday.

The 61-year-old truckie was pulled over by police conducting RBT duties on the M1 at Tweed Heads around 9.00am Monday.

He was subjected to a roadside breath test and was arrested after providing a positive result.

He was then taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.083, which is in the mid-range category.

The man has had his licence suspended and is due to appear in Tweed Heads Local Court on 7 November.

The truck was carrying cylinders of carbon dioxide, LPG and compressed oxygen at the time it was pulled over.
