A truck driver is in a critical condition in a Sydney hospital after having his legs crushed by his own semi-trailer.
The man, aged in his 60s, was heading northbound on the M1 at Wahroonga when he started experiencing issues with the truck’s brakes.
He pulled over just before 5am to inspect the vehicle, when the truck rolled over his legs.

The man has gone into cardiac arrest and been rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital.
Traffic in the northbound lanes was disrupted for several hours during the morning peak run as the rescue operation was carried out.
Police continue with their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the matter and have appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
