Donald Trump has warned North Korea any American military option would be “devastating” for Pyongyang, but said the use of force is not his first option.
“If we take that option, it will be devastating, I can tell you that, devastating for North Korea,” he told reporters on Tuesday.
“That’s called the military option, if we have to take it, we will.”

North Korea was recently hit with heavy economic sanctions from the UN, which was seen as an attempt to settle the rogue state.
The president said the war of words between North Korea and America was a result of previous poor US administrations.
“North Korea is a situation that should’ve been handled 25 years ago, 20 years ago, 15 years ago, 10 years ago and five years ago,” he said.
“It could’ve been handled much more easily… many administrations have left me a mess, but I’ll fix it.”
