With National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence (NDA) approaching, The Southport School (TSS) has planned a very important anti-bullying event for Friday.
Staff and Students will band together in support of NDA, with the whole TSS community encouraged to wear white and help raise funds for Act for Kids – a not-for-profit charity helping to treat and prevent child abuse and neglect.
Deputy Headmaster Andrew Hawkins said the issue of bullying and violence in schools is at the forefront of student wellbeing at TSS.

“Friday is a great way for the boys to not only be reminded of the harmful effects bullying has on students, but also on what to do if they experience bullying or violence in their life or through the internet,” he said.
TSS has also implemented various policies and procedures that not only support students, but also assist them in cases where they might be a victim of bullying or violence.
“The recent partnership with the Man-Up Workshops in Year 10 is a prime example of the commitment our Deans, Wellbeing Team and Housemasters make to ensure TSS boys become good men as they depart our gates into the world beyond their school years,” Mr Hawkins said.
