TV shows set to switch stations in regional Australia from July 1

A major broadcasting deal has been struck between Win Television and Southern Cross Austereo which will see a list of your favourite programs switch stations.on July 1.

It’s being dubbed the biggest change to regional television since the introduction of colour TV.

Nine Entertainment has ended its long-running regional affiliation deal with WIN TV to sign a new five-year arrangement with Macquarie Bank-owned Southern Cross Austereo.

Currently, WIN TV re-broadcasts content from Channel 9 while Southern Cross is the home of Channel 10.

However, on July 1, the networks will switch allegiances.

Southern Cross will broadcast Nine’s metropolitan free-to-air television content, including The Today Show, The Voice, The Block, NRL and cricket, into regional Queensland, Southern NSW and regional Victoria, while WIN TV is set to gain Masterchef, Eyewitness News, The Project, Family Feud, Gogglebox Australia.
