Tweed Heads model’s fiance jailed for two years

IT’S A TOUGH road ahead for Tweed Heads model Samantha Harris and her fiancé, Luke Hunt.

Hunt will spend two years in jail over a fatal crash that killed a 78-year-old man on Sydney’s northern beaches in 2012.

The 28-year-old was yesterday sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to dangerous driving causing death.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Kenneth Lay died in hospital after the car that Hunt and Harris were travelling in collided with his car, which then slammed into a tree.

The court heard Hunt had been speeding in the 60km/h zone, driving at 95km/h.

However, the judge accepted Hunt’s remorse and acknowledged the tradesman now suffers from depression.

Hunt has also been disqualified from driving for six-and-a-half years.

Harris, a model for David Jones, was not in court for her fiancé’s sentence.
