Tweed Heads skate park home to a near stabbing

THERE has been an attempted stabbing at a skate park in Tweed Heads.

A teenage boy has been charged after allegedly attempting to stab a group of people at around 9.00am on Monday.

A 14-year-old boy allegedly walked up to some other teenagers on Heffron Street carrying two knives.


He allegedly threw one of the knives towards the group with it narrowly missing a boy.

A boy ran into the grounds of the local high school where the 14-year-old allegedly followed him while armed with the knives.

It will be alleged he approached the boy who had to jump out of the way to avoid being stabbed.

Police were called to the school where they arrested the 14-year-old.

He was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with affray, assault and being armed with intent to commit indictable offence and refused bail to appear in Children’s Court on Tuesday.
