Tweed locals encouraged to rally against federal budget

TWEED MP Justine Elliot has announced that a public rally will be held to take a stand against what she said were unfair and cruel Federal Budget cuts.

“Tony Abbott and the Liberal National Government have delivered a Budget of broken promises that that will hurt pensioners and families already struggling to make ends meet.

“So many locals have approached me worried about Tony Abbott’s plans for a GP tax, a Petrol tax, and cuts to their pensions and family benefits.

“The people of North Coast have every right to feel betrayed by this Budget of broken promises and twisted priorities.

“This is all we see from Liberal National Governments – cuts to pensions, slashed services and higher taxes. This Budget is an unprecedented attack on the standard of living of North Coast locals, and a complete betrayal of every one of them.

“Locals have had enough. Please come and join me in this public rally in fighting for a fair go for the North Coast,” the Member for Richmond said.

Fighting for a Fair Go Rally 10:00 am Thursday June 12th Tweed Heads Civic Centre Call Justine’s Office to register on 07 55 234 371 or email justine.elliot.mp@aph.gov.au.
