Tweed pair charged after $28K worth of drugs found in car

TWO men have been arrested and charged after police intercepted a car in Tweed Heads overnight and found more than $28,000 worth of drugs stashed inside.

The Subaru Impreza was stopped on Blue Waters Crescent around 11.20pm on Friday.

During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly uncovered $810 in cash, more than 60g of cocaine, and cannabis.


According to police, the total estimated potential street value of the drugs seized is $28,800.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old Tweed Heads man, was arrested at the scene and has since been charged with supply prohibited drug and deal with property proceeds of crime.

The passenger, a 19-year-old man from Bilambil Heights, was also taken into custody and charged with supply prohibited drug.

Both men were granted strict conditional bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on Monday 28 September.
