Two 18-year-olds have been charged after allegedly setting off fireworks which caused a fire in Sydney’s west yesterday.
Emergency services were called to Bright Park in Guildford around 2.40pm yesterday afternoon, following reports of several loud explosions.
Police officers arrived to find fireworks exploding and several small grass fires breaking out.

The fires were able to spread quickly, due to sudden winds.
The NSW Rural Fire Service attended and extinguished the fires.
Following investigations, the two men were arrested at a fast food restaurant in Merrylands and taken to Granville Police Station.
One of the men has since been charged with negligent handling of explosives, passenger not disclose driver’s identity, and custody of a knife in a public place.
The second man has also been charged with negligent handling of explosives, as well as driver not disclose identity of driver.
They were both granted bail and are due to front court on January 7.
