Two armed robbers on the run on the Gold Coast

Police are looking for two men following an armed robbery at a licenced business in Oxenford early Saturday morning.

It is believed pair walked into the premises on the Old Pacific Highway at around 3.40am armed with a machete and a hammer and threatened a staff member and security officer.

One man then jumped over the counter and took a sum of money from the cash register before the pair fled the scene in a vehicle that had been parked outside.


The vehicle is described as a small black hatchback.

One man is described as around 30-years-old with an olive complexion. He was wearing a mask and gloves, black cap with a yellow emblem, dark hooded jacked with a white emblem, dark long pants also with a white emblem and white shoes with three dark stripes.

He was carrying a large machete with Chinese characters on the blade.
The second man is described as having a slim build and was wearing a dark mask, a black hooded jumper with a small white emblem on the hood, long dark pants and white shoes.

Police also have possession of a gold link necklace believed to have been dropped at the scene by one of the men.
