Two arrested over bashing murder of WWII veteran

POLICE have made a breakthrough in the shocking bashing murder of a Victorian great-grandfather and WWII veteran.

The body of 90-year-old Kenneth Handford, pictured, was found in the bedroom of his Springbank home on September 15, what would have been his 90th birthday.

Two men have been arrested and are assisting police with their inquiries.

Police are still trying to track down Mr Handford’s valuable war service medals, which were allegedly stolen, along with cash, from his home at the time of the attack.
