Two boys charged after cops spot teens pushing safe in trolley

Two boys, one aged as young as 13-years-old, have been charged after they allegedly broke into a home in NSW and stole a large safe.

Police say that about 11.20pm Saturday 17 July, officers were patrolling Swift Street in Wellington, when they allegedly spotted four males pushing a trolley containing a large safe.

Officers attempted to approach the group, however two of the boys ran away.


Following investigations, on Monday 18 July, police arrested a 17-year-old boy at a home in Wellington. He was charged with aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence.

Later that afternoon, police also arrested a  13-year-old boy at Wellington Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence.

Both are due to appear at a children’s court at a later date.
