Two boys charged over brutal bashing of 12yo on the Gold Coast
Two 12-year-old boys have been charged in relation to a violent robbery at Helensvale on Sunday night.
It’s believed the two are part of a group of five who dragged a 12-year-old boy from a taxi near the train station, before assaulting him and stealing his shoes.
They also tried to steal his phone, but were unsuccessful.
The 12-year-old victim sustained a fractured jaw, chipped tooth and grazing as a result of the attack, and was later taken to the hospital by his grandmother.
It’s believed the group of attackers were known to the boy.
One of the 12-year-old boys – from Labrador – has been charged with armed robbery, stealing and going armed to cause fear.
While the other – from Marsden – has been charged with robbery in company, stealing and possessing a knife in a public space.
Investigations are continuing.
