Two charged with high-speed street racing in Sydney
Police have charged two men who were allegedly street racing in Sydney’s south-west at the weekend, with one of the cars stopped found to have a 13-year-old passenger.
Highway Patrol officers were patrolling Woodville Road, Merrylands, on Saturday night when they observed a Nissan GTIR pass at speed, followed by a Nissan Skyline a short time later.
Police activated their warning devices and stopped both cars before speaking to the drivers of both vehicles. A 13-year-old boy was found inside the Nissan Skyline.
The drivers, two men aged 21 and 20, were each issued court attendance notices for the offences of participate in a street race, drive in a manner dangerous to the public, and negligent driving.
They are due to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Monday 23 November 2015.
