Two children airlifted to hospital after horror school bus crash in NSW

Two young boys were airlifted to hospital after they were injured in a horror school bus crash at Albion Park yesterday.

Police are still investigating the crash, however initial investigations suggest that two school buses, which were carrying around 40 children from a local private school, were travelling on Tongarra Road when they collided just after 3.40pm.

Nine children were taken to Wollongong Hospital with various injuries including bruising and fractures, while two boys, aged 7 and 10, were airlifted to the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick.

They were transported serious however are now believed to be in a stable condition.

The drivers of both school buses were taken to Shellharbour Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing, with police appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the crash to come forward.
