WILLOWBANK Raceway has expressed its condolences to the families of two men killed in a horror high-speed crash at the Ipswich Motorsport Precinct, west of Brisbane overnight.
It’s understood the pair were taking part in a Roll Racing event at Queensland Raceway when their yellow Holden Monaro left the racetrack and slammed into a wall before catching fire around 8.40pm on Saturday.
Sadly, despite the desperate attempts of paramedics to save the pair, the 32-year-old driver and his 41-year-old co-driver died at the scene.

Queensland Raceway is separate to Willowbank Raceway, although both facilities are located within the Ipswich Motorsport Precinct on Champions Way at Willowbank.
Saturday night’s crash occurred at Queensland Raceway, not at the Race Ya Mate event being held at the Willowbank Raceway as has been reported by some media.
“Willowbank Raceway is deeply saddened to hear of the fatalities at Queensland Raceway last night,” Willowbank Raceway said in a statement.
“The management of Willowbank Raceway passes on its sincere condolences to those affected by this tragedy.”
