A MOTORCYCLIST has tragically died after being thrown from his bike in a horror crash in the Gold Coast hinterland.
It happened at Advancetown, near the entrance to the Advancetown Caravan Park, around 1pm on Friday.
Police said the 40-year-old man was riding east along Nerang-Murwillumbah Road when he lost control and collided with a gutter near Parkway Drive.

Sadly, the rider sustained life-threatening injuries and could not be saved.
Police confirmed the man died at the scene.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
Meanwhile, a 22-year-old man has died after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck north of the Gold Coast.
It happened near the corner of Waterford-Tamborine Road and Anzac Avenue at Logan Village just before 9pm last night.
The 22-year-old rider died at the scene.
Police are still searching for the driver of the truck, which failed to stop.
