Two dead, three injured in horror NSW crash

Two people have been killed, three others injured and a major highway closed following a horror single vehicle crash in the North West Slopes of NSW this morning.

Police say shortly before 6am a vehicle carrying five people veered off the Newell Highway, roughly 25km south of Narrabri, and collided with a tree.


Two people were killed instantly.

The remaining three other occupants are all being treated for various injuries at the scene by ambulance paramedics and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter team from Tamworth.

Earlier, it was anticipated one of the injured occupants would be airlifted to hospital, while a second would be taken by ambulance.
