TWO drivers have been caught with more than four times the legal amount of alcohol in their system after being pulled over on the Gold Coast.
One of the drunk drivers allegedly recorded a blood alcohol reading of 0.267 percent in Surfers Paradise – the highest detected in Queensland on Friday.
The second driver allegedly blew .242 percent when pulled over in Mermaid Beach.

In the first week of the festive break, police have taken almost 500 alleged drink and drug drivers off the road and fined more than 21,000 motorists for speeding in Queensland.
Police will continue to be out in force over the New Year period, targeting speeding, drink and drug driving, distracted driving, fatigue and failing to wear a seatbelt.
The Festive Break phase of the Christmas Road Safety Campaign will continue until January 3, 2018.
