Two fugitives remain on the run in NSW

NEW South Wales authorities are still trying to hunt down two fugitives who escaped custody in separate incidents on Wednesday.

At around 4pm, Ali Hussein Chahine, 33,  police were notified by sheriffs at Downing Centre Local Court in Sydney that a man had escaped from the dock area in a court room after assaulting two Corrective Services officers.

He then ran from the building. He boarded a bus before disembarking outside Central Railway Station near Belmore Park.

Chahine is in custody for breach of bail of drug supply charges.

He is described as Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern appearance, medium build, wearing a blue singlet, and no shoes.

Earlier in the day Beau Wiles, 25, escaped from Goulburn jail while on work duty outside the complex just before 10am.

He was serving an 18-month sentence for shoplifting, assault, robbery, car theft and driving while disqualified.

Wiles is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 180cm tall and 100kg in weight.

He has tattoos on his lower forearms and was last seen wearing his green prison uniform.

Anyone who spots either man is urged not to approach him and to contact triple zero immediately.
