Two girls rob Surfers Paradise convenience store armed with knife

Investigations are underway after a convenience store was robbed in Surfers Paradise last night.

Police report that two girls entered a shop at the corner of Ferny Avenue and Surfers Paradise Boulevard around 8.20pm.

One of the girls was armed with a knife.

Early investigations suggest they tried to get behind the counter via a door, but the store attendant held it shut.

The pair then took some items from the shop before running away down Ferny Avenue.

Luckily, the 47-year-old attendant wasn’t injured in the incident.

Investigations are now underway.
