Not one, but two Gold Coast residents have started the week off as millionaires after both winning a share of Lotto’s $20 million jackpot.
The lucky Gold Coasters held two of the 14 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw and are now more than $1.4 million richer.
One of the winners, a Currumbin man, was settling in for a day of work when he received the life-changing phone call this morning.

“I honestly can’t quite believe it to be honest… I am over the moon, over the moon!” the man exclaimed.
“It feels very strange. I’ve only ever won $40. I can’t believe this.”
The man, who purchased his winning ticket online, said he plans to buy himself a new ute and do a bit of work to his home.
“Maybe we’ll even put in a pool!” he joked.
“If I could go overseas, I would do that too!”
Meantime, a Tallebudgera man just down the road said he was still struggling to get his head around his new millionaire status after checking his entry early yesterday morning.
“It feels so good. It’s honestly a bit surreal. I’m still trying to absorb the news,” he said.
“I checked the ticket on Sunday morning. I couldn’t believe it, so I woke my wife up to double-check it for me.
“We were both stunned. It will certainly go towards our retirement fund.”
The Tallebudgera local picked up his lucky ticket at the Spar Express Tallebudgera.
The winning numbers were 30, 40, 34, 14, 41 and 12, while the supplementary numbers were 15 and 27.
Meantime, the search is on for someone in the Tweed who bought a ticket in a winning syndicate but is yet to be found.
The ticket was purchased from Tweed City News at Tweed Heads South.
“This syndicate held one of the three division one winning entries from New South Wales in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto $20 Million Superdraw draw,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.
“While we’ll be reaching out to those syndicate members who registered their entries to their player card, there are many syndicate members who have unregistered entries and may not yet know they’re part of this winning group.
“If you purchased a share in a syndicate for the recent Saturday Lotto draw, today’s the day to check it!”
