Two hospitalised after e-scooter and bike collide, Gold Coast

Three people are recovering in hospital, after a couple of bingles around the Gold Coast this morning.

Paramedics were first called to Mermaid Beach around 5.30 am, following reports that an e-scooter and a bicycle collided.

It happened on Albatross Avenue, with two people briefly assessed at the scene for minor injuries.


They were taken to Pindara Hospital for further treatment but are both believed to be in stable conditions.

Just half an hour later, crews were called to Bundall following reports of a two-car crash.

It happened along Bundall Road and Thomas Drive at 6.00 am.

One person was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

Not at all surprised considering the speed some cyclist go at, especially on shared paths. They reduced the speed limit on all new mobility scooters in Australia to 10kph max. They should do the same with e bikes and similar.
