Two hospitalised after factory fire on the Gold Coast

Two women were taken to hospital after a factory fire broke out in Carrara overnight.

Emergency services were called to a bakery business on Keller Crescent just after midnight, where they assessed three patients.

Two females were transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions after suffering smoke inhalation.

It’s believed the third patient did not require hospitalisation.

Four fire crews were called to battle the blaze, and spent almost three hours on the scene.

They confirmed the fire was sparked due to an oven issue, and the building was full of smoke on arrival.

Four people were on scene, and had evacuated the building.

The business was handed back to the owner around 3.00am.
