Two in hospital after slamming car into tree in Southport

Two teenagers have been rushed to hospital after the car they were in slammed into a tree in Southport on Wednesday night.

Police say the two 18-year-old’s were travelling east along Cotlew Street East around 10.30pm when the car veered off the road and collided with a tree in the medium strip.

The driver and passenger have been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in serious but stable conditions.

Police have launched an investigation in to the crash.
