Two injured in attacks in Surfers and Broadbeach

A man has been arrested after a stabbing in Broadbeach left another man in hospital.

Police say the 44-year-old victim was stabbed twice in the chest during an altercation outside a Gold Coast Highway apartment block around 7am on Saturday.

The man suffered non life-threatening wounds and is being treated in the Gold Coast University Hospital.


Police tracked down the allegedly attacker in Helensvale and have taken him in for questioning.

No charges have yet been laid.

Meantime, a man is ‘sleeping off’ a big night that ended with him being found injured near the Cavill Avenue light rail station in Surfers Paradise.

Officers discovered the 23-year-old looking worse for wear around 4.30am.

He was treated at the scene for cuts to his face and was unable to tell Police what had happened.
