Two killed in horror crash on the Gold Coast
A BRISBANE couple have died in a horrific high speed crash on the Gold Coast this morning.
Police say the car was travelling along Ferry Street, Nerang before it lost control, left the road and slammed into a tree on Price Street just before 12:30am.
A 27-year-old Darra man and a 26-year-old woman from Fortitude Valley were killed instantly.
Witnesses said the vehicle was “wrapped around the tree”.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating if speed was a factor.
Police are urging anyone who may have seen a black Subaru Forester in the area between 12-12:20am to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
