Two men have been charged after a security officer was allegedly assaulted and glassed at a hotel south of Sydney.
Police arrived at the Shellharbour venue about 9pm on Saturday to find a 41-year-old man with serious lacerations to his head and injuries to his knees.
The security officer was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Wollongong Hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene was established at the hotel, which was examined by detectives and specialist forensic officers.
Two men – aged 23 and 22 – were arrested at the scene and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station.
The 23-year-old man was charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and fail to quit licensed premises.
His younger mate was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray and fail to quit licensed premises.
Both men were granted strict conditional bail to appear before Port Kembla Local Court on Wednesday 6 July 2016.
