Teen charged with murder over Scientology stabbing

UPDATE @ January 5 2019 | ALMOST TWO DAYS after a man was fatally stabbed the Church of Scientology headquarters in Sydney, a teenager has been charged with his murder.

The 16-year-old was arrested at the scene on Thursday, but only officially charged late on Friday night.

He is expected to face the Children’s Court on Saturday, also charged with common assault (DV), common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

It’s alleged he stabbed two men,  aged 24 and 30, while being escorted from the Chatswood facility on Thursday afternoon.

The 24-year-old man died in Royal North Shore Hospital later that day.

The older man is recovering from minor injuries.

EARLIER @ January 3 2019 | A MAN has died in hospital after allegedly being stabbed in the neck by a teenager at the Church of Scientology headquarters in Sydney today.

Emergency services were called to the religious centre on Greville Street in Chatswood just after 12.30pm following reports of a stabbing in the driveway of the centre.

According to NSW police, a 16-year-old boy had been asked to leave the premises when he allegedly pulled a knife on two men who were escorting him away.

The two injured men were rushed to Royal North Shore Hospital, with one in a critical condition.

Police confirmed in a statement a short time ago that the man, aged in his 20s, passed away.

The other man remains in a stable condition receiving treatment for a minor injury.

A crime scene has since been established and police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.

A 16-year-old boy arrested at the scene continues to assist with inquiries at Chatswood Police Station.

One of the men is in a critical condition.

A teenage boy has since been arrested in relation to the incident.

He has been taken to Chatswood Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.
