TWO men have been charged after a 5-year-old boy was shot in the face at a property on Queensland’s southern downs last month.
Police said the youngster was in a shed at Cottonvale with a 12-year-old boy known to him, when he was accidentally shot with an unsecured firearm around 4.30pm on January 5.
The younger boy suffered serious facial injuries and was rushed to the Lady Cilento Hospital for treatment.

A 29-year-old man has since been issued with a Notice to Appear and charged with one count of unlawful possession of a weapon.
A 63-year-old man has been issued with a Notice to Appear and charged with one count of failing to secure a weapon.
Both men are due to appear in the Warwick Magistrates Court on March 28.
