Two men charged with drug and weapons offences after Tweed raid

TWO men have been charged with numerous offences after a raid in Tweed Heads South on Wednesday.

Officers, as well as the dog squad, executed a search warrant at a unit on William Street just before 9.00am.

Police allege they found a stash of drugs, believed to be ice, MDMA and cannabis.


They also seized cash and a prohibited weapon.

A 54-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug (x3) and possess prohibited weapon without licence.

He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court on March 12.

A 24-year-old man was charged with supply prohibited drug (x2), possess prohibited drug (x3), deal with proceeds of crime and carry weapon upon apprehension.

He was refused bail and will appear at Byron Bay Local Court today.
