Two more charged after woman abducted, assaulted in Qld

Police have charged two more people following the shocking assault and deprivation of a woman in Cairns.

On March 3, a 32-year-old woman was assaulted at a Mooroobool residence before being driven away in a car and further assaulted.

The woman was able to break free and flee before raising the alarm. She was taken to Cairns Hospital with serious head injuries.


Three women and a man have already been charged over the attack, however a 20-year-old Trinity Park woman and a 26-year-old Manoora man were charged on Saturday as part of ongoing investigations.

They were charged with one count each of deprivation of liberty and assault occasioning bodily harm and are scheduled to appear in the Cairns Magistrates Court on March 29 and 30.
