Two people stabbed in the back in Cairns

A teenager and a man have been both stabbed during a fight, allegedly with a woman, outside a unit complex in Cairns.

Police say the fight broke out when the 19-year-old woman and the man approached a group of people who were making noise on their street in Manunda on Wednesday night.

The 19-year-old woman was knocked to the ground and stabbed in the back, while her friend, a 20-year-old man, was also knifed when he tried to intervene.

A 20-year-old woman is due to face Cairns Magistrates Court on Thursday charged with two counts of wounding.
