Two more snakes strike in Qld – Woman and teen rushed to hospital

Two people have been rushed to hospital with snake bites after being bitten just 1 hour apart in Queensland this morning.

Emergency services raced to Hunt Road at Alton Downs on the outskirts of Rockhampton around 9.30am after receiving reports a woman had been bitten.

The woman, aged in her 60’s was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Rockhampton Hospital in a stable condition.

Just an hour later, a young girl was struck by a snake on Gentle Annie Road at Ambrose near Gladstone.

She was also rushed to Rockhampton Hospital for treatment.

The species of snakes involved in the two incidents is not yet known.

Queenslanders have been warned to remain vigilant with snake season in full swing.
