Two hospitalised after stabbing in rural NSW

Two people have been rushed to hospital following a stabbing in the NSW Riverina City of Wagga Wagga.

It’s understood a man and a woman were stabbed during an altercation on Mumford Street, in the suburb of Ashmont, around 2.30pm.

According to the regional city’s news website, The Daily Advertiser, one person was stabbed in the chest.


A second person was reportedly slashed.

Both the man and woman have been taken to Wagga Rural Referral Hospital for treatment.

Their condition is not known.

Police have sealed off the area as detectives and forensic officers examine the scene.
