Two staff members quit Billy Gordon’s Mareeba electorate offices

Two staffers for embattled Queensland MP Billy Gordon have quit, the Clerk of the Queensland Parliament has confirmed.

ALEX HEINKE reports.

The Clerk of the Parliament, Neil Laurie, said two of Mr Gordon’s Mareeba electorate staff quit on Wednesday but the office was still staffed.

It’s another blow for the now independent MP for Cook was forced to quit the Labor Party before making his maiden speech earlier this year, over a failure to disclose his criminal history and domestic violence allegations.

A police investigation did not result in any charges but Queensland Police are continuing to look into”sexting” allegations against the MP.
