Two-storey home goes up in flames in Sydney’s west

UPDATE 1:45PM | A MAN has been rushed to hospital with severe burns after the house he was in caught fire in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to the two-storey house ablaze on Yarram Street around midday.

Firefighters arrived to find the house “well alight”. It took crews more than an hour to extinguish the flames.

Fire and Rescue NSW confirmed one person suffered severe burns in the inferno. It’s believed that person is a man aged in his 30s.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital in a serious condition.

EARLIER 12:30AM | EMERGENCY services are at the scene of a ferocious house fire in Sydney’s west.

Firefighters were called to the home in Lidcombe around midday. They arrived to find the two-storey building well alight.

Multiple crews are at the scene attempting to contain the blaze and extinguish the flames.

At least one person has been injured, according to Fire and Rescue NSW. Their condition is not known.
