Two teens charged over violent Parkwood robbery

Two teenagers have been charged after a service station employee was brutally assaulted during a violent robbery in Parkwood overnight.

Around 9.00pm, a group of teens entered the Olsen Avenue servo, with two of them stealing a number of food items.

A 23-year-old man working behind the counter followed the group outside and confronted the teens who had allegedly stolen the items.


During the confrontation, he was attacked and assaulted.

Shortly after, police tracked down the group of males near a hospital.

A 19-year-old from Surfers Paradise was arrested and charged with robbery with violence and enter premises with intent. He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 16-year-old boy from Coombabah is also facing charges of robbery with violence and enter premises with intent, however he will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.

The service station employee was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment of facial injuries.
