Two wanted Australian fugitives arrested following launch of Crime Stoppers campaign
Two wanted Australian fugitives have been arrested a day after Crime Stoppers launched Operation Roam – Fugitive Hunt.
Luke Broadhead was arrested by detectives around midday at Trinity Beach in Cairns.
The 35-year-old recently failed to comply with his parole order and a warrant was issued for his arrest and return to prison.
Police said he was located as a result of information received by Crime Stoppers and is currently assisting with enquiries.
A second national Operation Roam target, Daryl Wellington, 29, was arrested this morning in Victoria.
The arrests come just one day after police released a list of 19 fugitives on the run in Australia, appealing for help from the public to try and track them down.
