Two women indecently assaulted by Sydney taxi driver

A Sydney taxi driver is due to appear in court next month, charged with indecently assaulting two women.

Just before 11.30 on Sunday 22 November 2015, a 26-year-old female passenger was allegedly indecently assaulted by a taxi driver while driving to Glebe.

Police were alerted and officers from Leichhardt Local Area Command commenced inquiries.

A 61-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday 24 November 2015, and charged with indecent assault and common assault.

Investigators subsequently received information about the alleged indecent assault of a 30-year-old woman on Friday 13 November 2015.

It’s alleged the woman hailed the taxi from King Street at Newtown and was assaulted during the journey.

Yesterday afternoon Thursday 26 November 2015, police attended the man’s Auburn home and issued him a court notice for the offences of indecent assault and common assault.

He remains on bail to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on all charges on Friday 18 December 2015.
