Two-year-old girl sexually assaulted at Sydney play centre

A manhunt is underway in Sydney after a two-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a stranger in a shocking attack at a play centre in the city’s west.

The toddler was found injured at the centre on Mulgoa Rd at Penrith around 12.20pm on Sunday.

Police say the girl’s mother had been looking for her before she was found in a storeroom by a member of the public.

Officers set up a crime scene and referred the matter to the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse Sex Crimes Squad.

Investigations are continuing with initial inquiries suggesting the young girl was sexually assaulted by an unknown man.

Police are now appealing for anyone with information to contact them, especially anyone who was at the centre and saw any suspicious behaviour.
