Uber driver attacked with machete
An Uber driver is recovering in hospital after he was allegedly attacked by a machete-wielding teenage girl in Brisbane early this morning.
The man picked up the 17-year-old female at a Zillmere address around 12:30am. However when he realised the teen didn’t order the ride, she allegedly pulled out a machete and tried to steal the car.
The 37-year-old driver was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with a serious cut to the head.
The girl has been charged with attempted robbery with violence and assault occasioning bodily harm and will face Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
