Unaccompanied ‘Learner’ driver arrested after being busted drink-driving

A learner driver has been charged after he was caught drink driving in Woolooware.

Police said that around 12.05am Sunday, officers stopped a white Toyota Corolla displaying P-plates for a random breath test.

The driver, an 18-year-old man, allegedly returned a positive reading and further investigations revealed that he was a learner driving unaccompanied.

He was arrested at the scene and charged with special range drink-driving, and learner unaccompanied.

He is due to face Sutherland Local Court on 20 October.
