Undercover detectives bust man allegedly grooming child for sex [video]

A man has been charged after he allegedly made arrangements to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old boy for sex.

The 56-year-old was arrested by detectives at Parramatta Railway Station about 5.00pm on Thursday.

It comes after undercover detectives began engaging online with the man, from Sydney’s west, after receiving a referral earlier this month.

Police allege the man believed he was speaking to a 14-year-old boy and engaged in sexually-explicit conversations with the child and made arrangements to meet for sex.

He has since been charged with use carriage service to procure persons under 16 and use carriage service to groom persons under 16.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today.
