Union boss to face public corruption hearing today

Union boss Michael Ravbar will face a public corruption hearing into Queensland’s 2016 local government elections.

The Crime and Corruption Commission is investigating funding and disclosure allegations made against candidates in the Logan, Gold Coast, Moreton Bay and Ipswich councils.

Mr Ravbar, the State Secretary of the Construction, Forestry, Mining and Energy Union, is the latest witness to give evidence for Operation Belcarra.

Mr Ravbar will testify in Brisbane today,  as well as property developer David Trask and Gold Coast mayoral candidate Penny Toland.
