UPDATE 10:07AM | Power is back on for a majority of Gold Coasters left in the dark on Sunday morning.
Initially over 1,100 homes and businesses lost supply in Main Beach and Southport.
101 in Main Beach are still waiting to be re-connected.

Traffic lights were also knocked out at the corner of Ferry Road and Cotlew Street East in Southport.
Energex crews are busy carrying out emergency repairs.
EARLIER 8:45AM | 1,122 Gold Coast homes and businesses have lost power on Sunday morning.
The suburbs affected are Main Beach, with 1,006 in the dark there and 116 are unable to switch on the lights in Southport.
Energex crews are heading out to investigate, so there’s no word on the cause yet.
