UPDATE: Elderly man hit by car at Burleigh dies
UPDATE: An elderly man who suffered life threatening injuries after being hit by a car at Burleigh Heads on August 3 has died in hospital.
EARLIER: An elderly man is fighting for life after he was hit by a car at Burleigh Heads on Wednesday night.
Early investigations indicate the 84-year-old walked in front of a vehicle exiting a car park and was hit at 6:15pm.
The impact caused him to fall onto the Gold Coast Highway and strike his head.
The man was treated at the scene before being transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing.
