UPDATE: Elderly woman dies in Arundel house fire
The body of a woman has been found at the scene of a ferocious house fire in Arundel.
The blaze broke out just before 8.30pm on Monday with emergency crews rushing to the scene on Central Street.
The home was already well involved and suffered extensive damage.
Crews were aware a woman may have been inside, but were unable to find her.
Police confirmed on Tuesday morning, the body had been found, but has not yet been formally identified.

A crime scene has been set up and police and fire investigators will be attending to determine the cause of the fire.

EARLIER: Police have confirmed a woman remains unaccounted for after a fierce blaze tore through an Arundel home on Monday night.
Emergency services rushed to the Central Street home around 8.30pm and found the home completely engulfed in flames.
The home was completely destroyed as a result.
Police have returned to the scene this morning in a bid to determine the cause of the fire.
